Meet our new Director for the 2023 Summer Season!
Tony Ramsdell is on board and could not be more excited to take over the flourishing program at Northstar Resort. With a long history up and down the California coast he is excited to enhance and improve your game while visiting Lake Tahoe.
Tony has been teaching tennis for over 15 years full time. In that window he has coached Men's and Women's teams and individuals from the 2.5-5.0+ level. He has also run several junior programs including junior specialty classes (ages 5-6) to nationally ranked junior players that have gone on to the collegiate level.

Fred Safipour
Head Pickleball Pro
A 30-year racquet sport professional, Fred Safipour is thrilled to be joining the NPOA program as its Head Pickleball Professional. A full-time Northstar resident, Fred looks forward to offering a fun summer of clinics, camps, and socials for all skill levels.
“I love pickleball because it’s easy to learn,” he says, “and as you develop your skills – to dink, lob and hit angles and third-shot drops - it’s even more fun to play.”
Before moving to California in 1992, Fred managed tennis clubs in Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania. He came to California to become the head professional at Walnut Creek’s Heather Farm Tennis Center.
After moving to Northstar six years ago, he hung up his tennis racquet to pursue pickleball full time. Fred brought the Tahoe Peak Pickleball Tournament to Northstar in 2019, and is now president of the Truckee Tahoe Pickleball Club, which is raising money to build a pickleball complex at Truckee’s River View Sports Park.
Fred looks forward to seeing everyone on the pickleball courts this summer!
